Bilingual websites for dentists in Houston

In Houston, a large share of a dental practice’s patients search in Spanish and another share in English, sometimes within the same family: parents search “dentista para niños que acepte Medicaid” and their kids “pediatric dentist near me”. An English-only site misses the first group, and one translated with a plugin does not show up for either when they search in Spanish.

A dental practice also has a problem most web designers never mention: the appointment form. The moment it asks for symptoms, history or insurance details, the site is handling health information, and in Texas that is regulated not only by HIPAA but by a broader state law.

How your clients search, in each language

Examples of real searches from this kind of client. They are not translations of each other: each language is researched and ranked separately.

In SpanishIn English
«dentista cerca de mí»“dentist near me”
«dentista que acepta Medicaid»“dentist that accepts Medicaid”
«dentista de emergencia en Houston»“emergency dentist Houston”
«dentista para niños»“pediatric dentist”
«implantes dentales precio»“dental implants cost”
«limpieza dental cerca de mí»“teeth cleaning near me”

Which pages your site needs

  • One page per treatment: cleaning, whitening, implants, orthodontics, root canal and emergencies, in both languages.
  • An accepted-insurance page, including Medicaid and CHIP if you take them: it is one of the first things patients ask.
  • Payment plans and financing, and what each covers.
  • A kids’ page, written for the parents’ questions.
  • Location, hours, parking and directions, with the Google map.
  • Patient reviews and real photos of the office and team.

What turns visits into clients

  • Call button always visible on mobile: most dental appointments start with a phone call.
  • Two-step booking in the patient’s language.
  • “Hablamos español” visible on the English version, for people who arrive via English search but prefer care in Spanish.
  • Emergency and weekend hours highlighted if you offer them.

What the appointment form must respect in Texas

HIPAA governs protected health information. A form that emails symptoms, history or insurance details through ordinary email exposes that information, and any vendor handling it on your behalf must sign a business associate agreement (BAA).

In Texas, the Medical Records Privacy Act (HB 300, Health and Safety Code chapter 181) defines a “covered entity” as anyone who assembles, uses, stores or transmits protected health information, a broader definition than HIPAA’s that can reach website owners and technology vendors.

That is why we design the appointment form to ask only what booking needs: name, phone, preferred language, time and general reason. Clinical details belong in your patient system or in a form service that signs a BAA, not on the website or in an email.

This is general information, not legal advice: confirm with your compliance advisor how it applies to your practice.

Frequently asked questions

Is the site HIPAA compliant?

The site is designed not to collect clinical information: the appointment form asks only what booking needs. If you need medical history forms, we connect them to a service that signs a BAA. Full compliance also depends on how your practice handles that data.

Why does Texas HB 300 matter?

Because it defines anyone handling protected health information in Texas as a covered entity, beyond what HIPAA does. That means thinking carefully about which data goes through the website and through whom.

Which plan fits a dental practice?

Usually Professional, at $2,500: it allows one page per treatment in each language, the insurance page and a Google Business Profile optimized in both languages.

Can you work with a Houston practice from Ecuador?

Yes. The process runs over video call and WhatsApp, on hours that work for Texas, and the site is hosted on our servers in the United States.
